Brentwood: Firefighters Battle Kitchen Fire

On Saturday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1700 block of Diamond Springs Court in the city of Brentwood.

The fire was first reported at 11:17 am and upon arrival, firefighters located a single story home with black smoke coming from the vent side of the house and the front door. Upon further investigation, they located a kitchen fire.

Interior fire attack was made and they extinguished the fire.

According to Battalion Chief Jeff Burris, fire damage to the kitchen with smoke damage throughout the house with an estimated loss of $35,000. At least three people were displaced from the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
