Brentwood: Fire Causes $10k in Damage at PreSchool

At 10:21 am Friday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the Head Start of Contra Costa County Building for a commercial structure fire which caused $10k in damages.

The fire, located on Brentwood Blvd and Havenwood occurred next tot the Marsh Creek Apartments required a total of 17 firefighters.

The Battalion Chief on duty was first on scene and found smoke and flames inside the structure. He reported via radio traffic that the room was filled with smoke chest high. It was reported to be an electrical fire inside a wall.

The damage was listed as smoke damage throughout the structure with fire damage limited to the entry way. The estimated cost of the damage was at $10,000 with no injuries reported. The cause of the fire was an electrical outlet.
