Brentwood: Domestic Disturbance Call Prompts Heavy Police Response

by ECT

Sunday night just after 9:00 pm, Brentwood Police responded to a domestic disturbance call that turned into a 2-hour ordeal as police tried to locale a male subject who was believed to be inside a home.

According to Lt. Herbert the domestic call was resolved without issue on Portofino Drive and Corniglia Lane, however, while officers were taking outside wrapping up the call, the residents of the home came back outside and made statements to police which triggered a large response.

Lt. Herbert could not disclose what was said, but said it was enough to raise alarm for officers.

In total, 10-units responded to the Portofino Drive as they surrounded the home while trying to locate the subject to check on his welfare. A k9 unit was also on scene who assisted officers in searching the home once entry was made.

Lt. Herbert did confirm the subject was on parole and the parole officer was notified, but did not provide the cause of his parole.

Brentwood-Police2“The accusations were serious in nature,” said Herbert. “But we were unable to prove what the occupants of the house said and unable to prove any crime occurred. At the end of the day, it ended up being a welfare check. Had we located him, we would have checked his welfare and determine if he was able to released onto his own.”

Police cleared the home after about 2-hours and searched neighboring shopping centers at Raley’s and the Streets of Brentwood but they could not locate him.

Brentwood Police are not currently looking for the subject but if they spot him, they will follow up and speak with him to check on his welfare. They are calling this an isolated incident limited to this specific location.
