Brentwood: 2 Critically Injured, 2 Others Also Injured in Vehicle Crash

At 5:21 pm Saturday, East Contra Costa firefighters responded to Concord Ave and Walnut Blvd in unincorporated Brentwood for a report of a two vehicle accident.

Battalion 5 was first on scene and found two vehicles involved in major damage to both vehicles. He immediately requested three additional ambulances (4 total) and three medical helicopters. One patient had to be extricated from a vehicle using the Jaws of Life.

In total, there were 4-patients. Two patients were flown by medical helicopter and one patient was transported by ground to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The fourth patient was ground transported to Sutter Delta Hospital in Antioch.

According to Battalion 5, two patients were critically injured, a third was moderately injured and the fourth patient sustained minor injures.

In total, three of the four ECCFPD District engines responded to this call (E52, E94, E59) leaving Engine 93 (Oakley) to cover the rest of the District.

The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Might be my cousin who was hit by red light runner.(your right) Cant be sure, no names! One lost a kidney, my cousin on blood thinners, 83 yrs. young, bleeding in his head. Cousins gf daughter, not sure. Other driver, not sure. No visitors except his daughters in ECU. Keep in your prayers, please.

sorry, I know. hurried…. my older cousin, 83, his gf, and his gf daughter in one vehicle. gf daughter driving. car runs red light and hits them. My cousin has the head injuries, gf lost a kidney. all I know right now. Cuz and gf still in ECU. Cant find article with names to verify if this is them….
