Bethel Island: Man Crushed by Horse Airlifted to Local Hospital

On Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a man who fell off his horse and then crushed by the horse who fell on top of him.

The incident occurred around 7:55 pm Sunday in the 5200 block of Aspen Road on Bethel Island.

According to Battalion Chief Jeff Burris, the male sustained possible internal injuries and a medical helicopter was requested as he suffered moderate injuries. The male was transported to John Muir Medical Hospital in Walnut Creek.
