Bethel Island: Firefighters Quickly Knockdown Kitchen Fire

On February 4 at 9:25 pm, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District & Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a kitchen fire with smoke & flames in the 2300 block of Taylor Road on Bethel Island.

Engine 53 arrived on scene where firefighters reported smoke coming from the front door. They made entry and quickly knocked down a fire.

Units remained on scene for two hours to mop up and remove most of the burned/damaged contents. The ECCFPD also reported a cat died in the home due to smoke inhalation.
