Just after 7:00 am Monday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the 1900 block of Taylor Road on Bethel Island on a report of a boat fire.
The District respond, who was delayed because zero visibility due to heavy fog, located a boat that was fully engulfed in flames.

Private vessels were used to move the occupants from the dock to land.
Auzenne said that the boat that caught fire was 20-30 feet in size and was no mostly under water, but said if other nearby boats had also caught fire, they could have had a major incident.
The District had assistance from Contra Costa County Fire who provided an engine along with a fire boat. Power to the dock has also been cut as a precaution.
The incident is under investigation.
