Update: Benicia Police Capture Man Who Shoots Gun Inside Bar Injuring Two

by ECT

The Benicia Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male who opened fire inside a bar Saturday morning.

The suspect in the video (see video) is sought for shooting and wounding two men at the Bottom of the Fifth Bar on Military East early this morning.

At about 1:30 a.m., a 911 call came in from the bar reporting a man armed with a handgun inside the establishment. While officers are in route to the scene, we received multiple reports of shots fired inside the bar, injuring two 45-year-old men from Benicia and Texas. Paramedics treated their non-life threatening injuries at the scene before they were being transported to a local hospital.

Several witnesses said the suspect was involved in a verbal altercation, before brandishing a handgun and firing it multiple times, hitting the two victims. The suspect ran out of the bar and was not located after an extensive search.

If you are a witness, or have any other information regarding the shooting, please call Sgt. Hart at 707-746-4244 or call our dispatch center at 707-745-3411 option #1.
