Bay Point: 3-Hour Standoff Ends Peacefully, Female and Two Children Freed

Just before 2:00 pm Monday, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in on Island View Drive in Bay Point.

According to the Sheriffs Office, a man barricaded himself and three others inside a home where he refused to let two children and a female leave the home.

After about 2-hours, the three hostages were let go and were freed to safety of family members.

By 5:00 pm, the Sheriffs Office had continued to talk with the suspect who eventually peacefully surrendered to law enforcement without incident and fire and medical were cancelled.
