BART Warns Riders that Major Delays Are Expected into Commute Hours

by ECT

Due to repairs to a San Francisco BART Track that will last into the evening commute hours, major delays are expected throughout the day.

BART is running only one train line past the Montgomery station in San Francisco until repairs are completed, BART spokeswoman Alicia Trost said.

BART discovered the problem just after 9:30 am between Civic Center and 16th Street Mission Bart Station.

BART has said there is a deformity on the trackway and repairs are expected to take five to six hours, Trost said at about 10:45 a.m.

Trains are single-tracking through all downtown San Francisco stations and trains traveling from the East Bay to the city are limited, according to BART and riders may have to transfer at certain stations to catch San Francisco-bound trains.

San Francisco Municipal Railway and Alameda-Contra Costa Transit are honoring BART tickets today. BART riders are being encouraged to seek alternate methods of transportation.
