The following information was sent to us by Ayore Riaunda who has announced he is running for Contra Costa County Auditor-Controller in the June 3 election. He will square off against current auditor-controller Robert Campbell.

Ayore Riaunda’s qualifications for office include:

  • Master of Business Administration, Montclair State University, New Jersey, 1990.
  • Certified Government Financial Manager, Association of Government Accountants, 2004.
  • 28 years of professional fiscal management experience
  • U.S. Navy Action Officer
  • Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist
  • 4 Navy Reserve Meritorious Service Medals
  • National Defense Service Medal
  • Sea Service Deployment Ribbon
  • 5 other Navy Medals

Ayore Riaunda has lived in Contra Costa County / Bay Area for 22 years, being a homeowner, community volunteer, certified financial manager, husband, father, and U.S. Navy Reservist.  He served our country in our Navy for 18 years and still serves in the Navy Reserve, and is asking County voters to let him continue to serve County residents by electing him County Auditor-Controller.

“We must have sound fiscal policies for the County of Contra Costa to assure taxpayer dollars are well spent while being sensitive to changing individual, family, and community needs.  As Auditor-Controller, I will ensure more accountability, transparency, fair policies, and more controls to safeguard County assets and reduce waste, while increasing services to County residents” states Mr. Riaunda.

As Auditor-Controller, Ayore Riaunda will let County residents enter their home addresses on County home webpage so they can see which government taxing agencies receive their 1% property tax dollars without entering their “Tax Rate Areas.”

With a Master of Business Administration degree, Financial Management Certification, and having 28 years of professional fiscal management experience and best practices, Mr. Riaunda has already served County residents for 17 years and will continue that service as Auditor-Controller.

As an experienced financial manager and U.S. military veteran, Ayore Riaunda asks voters to elect him as Contra Costa County Auditor-Controller.
