Assemblywoman Bonilla Offers Remarks in Recognition of Veterans Day

by ECT

Assemblywoman Susan A. Bonilla (Concord, CA) – offered the following statement in recognition of those who served and are serving our country in the Armed Forced of the United States and their families.  California has the largest population of Veterans in the nation; there are over 2 million Veterans in California, with over 37,000 Veterans returning to California yearly.

“Veterans deserve our gratitude and respect for the sacrifices that they and their families make so that we may continue to enjoy our freedom,” said Assemblywoman Bonilla.  “We can be proud that we live in a community in which we all work hard to make it easier for returning veterans to successfully integrate back into our communities. This year I was pleased recognize Concord Vet Center Team Leader Denver Mills as the 11th Assembly District Veteran of the Year for his service.  I was also proud to author legislation that increased funding to Veteran Service Offices to ensure that veterans receive the benefits they have earned.  We must continue to recognize and reward their sacrifice.  I would also like to thank the two veterans on my staff, Suzette Adkins and Maurice Delmer, for their service, sacrifice, and commitment to our country.”
