Asm Frazier Transportation Plan Calls for 17 Cent per Gallon Gas Tax Increase

by ECT

A plan by Assemblyman Jim Frazier (D-Oakley) and Senator Jim Beal (D-San Jose) calls for a 17-cents per gallon gas tax increase as part of a new transportation funding plan.

According to the LA Times, the plan was released last night which is more than double the plan proposed by Governor Jerry brown in his $3.6 billion proposal–a 6-cent gas tax hike.

Under the Beal-Frazier package, it seeks to raise $7.4 billion in transportation funding to assist the states funding issues.

The LA Times also reported as part of the 17-cents per gallon tax, it would be indexed to inflation, but also includes the following:

  • A diesel tax increase of 30 cents per gallon, also indexed to inflation
  • $165 annual fee for zero-emission vehicles
  • The creation of an Office of Transportation inspector general to oversee state spending
  • Greater environmental streamlining for repairing existing transportation infrastructure

No official press release by Assemblyman Frazier’s Office or Senator Beal’s office has been released as of Thursday morning.

And Jim Frazier is endorsing Steve Barr for County Supervisor… remember that everyone! I will be supporting Dave Miller this November for Assembly. I cannot trust Jim Frazier to do the right thing anymore.

Frazier, we are so done with you. You have proven to be a vindictive, power crazed individual with no sense of your constituency. The word is out that you are a bad apple. Enjoy your last term in office. Thank goodness it won’t last long.

From your record and recent actions, you never had any intentions of putting people before politics. It was just a stupid slogan you used to get elected. You are in the business of using things as well as people, that much is true.

You want to ADD another 17 cents to an already ridiculous gas tax? Why, So we can build more toll lanes that many of us already can’t afford to drive in? I’ll pitch in to buy you a Fast Pass. Only if it is a fast pass for you to get out of politics. How’s that for a deal.

Adios.

What is he thinking? Oh, I forgot, he doesn’t think. No votes here for Frazier past or present.

This year (2016) California has budgeted 19.4 Billion dollars for welfare. How about we stop being a “Help Me” state and spend that money elsewhere like transportation.

No and hell no! Sorry Frazier

I just hope I can afford enough fuel to get out of California. Oakley wants a sales tax, schools want bonds, I suppose the politicians will continue to push their library bonds, and fire bonds. ENOUGH!

“Name it after me”, Frazier at it again. Clearly has no clue about what he was elected for. Read my lips, no new taxes. All govt entities squander what they already take from us and come at us for. Pack up your office and get a real job.
