The Fairfield Police Department announced that around 8:30 am Tuesday, Police Dispatch received a 911 call from a resident on Vintage Valley Dr. The homeowner relayed to dispatch that someone had broken into his residence. The homeowner further informed dispatch he had shot the intruder and the intruder fled from the residence.

Officers located the intruder across the street, detained him and found he was in possession of a loaded semiautomatic handgun with an extended magazine. The husband fired on the intruder who then fled.

The Fairfield Police Department’s Investigation’s Bureau has taken over the investigation. As there are other aspects still being looked into, no further information will be released at this time.

The Fairfield Police Department has a victim advocate on staff who will be reaching out to the victims in the case to offer any assistance they can. Anyone with information about this home invasion is asked to contact the Investigations Bureau at (707) 428-7600.

This is great! Glad this POS is dead.

More homeowners that arm themselves the better. Happy that the homeowners are safe.

GOOD WORK! Finally, someone shows some balls and dispenses with dangerous criminals. Can you imagine what would have happened to the couple if the husband didn’t have the means to protect his wife and himself? I wonder if this guy was one of those 76,000 let out of prison on our wonderful Governor Newsom’s orders!

This needs national attention. Congrats to the homeowner to legally defending his property from this scum of a person.

Good work! LEO did their job as well as a husband protecting his wife! Had absolutely nothing to do with race, financial backgrounds, it has EVERYTHING to be handed to this new generation and not work for whatever it is that want!

With so many violent criminals let out of prisons, we have to double and triple our efforts to stay out of harm! They are out there!

More of this should be happening! I mean, if someone breaks into your house, you should be ready to take him out and not hesitate for one moment. You are responsible for your own defense. Things like this are happening every day and it’s time to be prepared.
