Antioch: Wilbur Ave Shut Down After Dump Truck Strikes Power Pole

by ECT

At 3:50 pm Monday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of arcing wires after a dump truck struck a power pole in the 3500 block of Wilbur Ave in the City of Antioch.

The incident required Antioch Police to block off the eastbound direction of traffic while Oakley police blocked the westbound portion of traffic while PG&E was on scene.

It appears the driver of the dump truck failed to negotiate the turn.

No further information was made available and no estimated time of reopening the road was provided.
