On March 9, Antioch Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Willow Brook Way and Catanzaro where a man was shot in the torso.
The incident occurred around 11:00 pm where a neighbor in the area advised a subject was at their door claiming to be shot. We arrived on scene and found an adult male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the left torso.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
According to the victim, he went to a house in the area to bring his runaway nephew home. While there, he confronted three males in the front yard about harboring a runaway. Shortly after one of the males pulled out a gun and shot him. A black car was seen driving around the area shortly after the shooting.
Officers located 28 year old Steven Clark and 33 year old Darnell Williams driving in a black Audi. The vehicle was searched and a loaded Glock handgun was located in the trunk. The serial numbers had been removed and both were arrested. The victim stated neither were involved in the shooting but were his cousins there to assist him.
Officers made contact at a home on Willow Brook Way and conducted a search of the residence but no weapons were located.
Antioch Police say the case is still under investigation.
