Antioch: ‘Negligent Discharge’ Sends Bullet Through Neighbor’s Window

by ECT

On March 9 around 4:00 pm, Antioch Police responded to a report of a gunshot coming from a home in the 5200 block of Steven Stroud Drive.

Officers arrived on scene and found the front door open at 5228.

A safety sweep was conducted inside of the residence and a firearm was found lying on the living room floor. 18 year old Malik Edwards was eventually contacted via the phone and admitted to playing with his “friend’s” gun and accidentally fired a round off inside of the house.

The round traveled through a wall and struck a window at a neighbor’s house. No one was injured and Edwards refused to return to the house out of fear of being arrested.

The gun was collected as evidence.
