Antioch: Bicyclist Struck by Vehicle on E 18th

At 3:08 pm Thursday, Contra Costa County firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian in the City of Antioch.

Upon arrival, police located a bicyclist that had been struck on E 18th Street at Crestwood with the bicyclist down in the ground. The driver of the vehicle also stopped and was cooperating with police.

The bicyclist was alert and able to move, however, he was transported by AMR to a local hospital. No further details were available.

I stay away from that area. E. 18th Street and A Streets are THE worst streets to drive around. Motorists don’t pay attention to their driving. Bicyclists put their lives in their hands around there.

I hate that intersection and avoid it like the plague! Drivers run red light there all the time.
