Antioch: Bay Point Man Arrested After Shooting at Vehicle Full of Women

An arrest was made by the Antioch Police Department on a July 22 shooting where a man shot at a vehicle wit three female occupants on the 600 block Wilbur Ave.

The victims of the shooting, three 23-year-old females, were gone when police arrived on scene but eventually located on Mahogany Way across town. The victims reported being shot at while they were driving into the apartment complex on Wilbur Avenue by a known responsible. None of the three adult female victims were injured by any of the gunfire, but the vehicle they were traveling in was struck several times

During the investigation into the incident, information was developed that helped to identify Jamel Lavone Williams, 25 of Bay Point, as the suspect.

Approximately two weeks later (on August 4) Williams was located by the Federal Marshall’s Fugitive Apprehension Team in the City of Concord. Williams was arrested as a Parolee at Large as well as for his involvement in this case.

He was taken to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on his arrest warrant as well as charges of PC 245(A)(2) – Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm). The case is currently being prepared for filing with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
