The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert on behalf of the Merced County Sheriffs Office Saturday after 2-year-old John Weir was taken by his father, Steven Weir.
According to CHP, John and Steven were last seen in the Merced/Atwater Area of Merced County yesterday around 7:00 pm in a red 2005 Hyundai Elantra with California license plate 5SKT544. At this time, they are uncertain where Steven is going but he could possibly be heading to the Tuolumne or Calaveras County areas.
- Steven Wier is 32 years-old and described as 5’ 10”, 300 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes and last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and cargo shorts.
- John Weir is 2-years-old and has blond hair and blue eye and wearing a blue t-shirt and tan shorts.
If you see the vehicle or suspect immediately call 9-1-1. Weir is considered armed and dangerous.
