Motorcyclist Airlifted After Crash on Byron Highway

At 5:23 am Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a solo motorcycle crash on Byron Highway near Point of Timber in the Town of Discovery Bay.

It was reported the motorcyclist sustained an arm injury.

Engine 59 arrived on scene and reported they had one patient with a major injury and requested a medical helicopter. For safety reasons, they have shut down Byron Highway in both directions.

By 5:37 am, the updated crash location was Byron Highway near SR-4.

By 5:47 am, it was reported that the rider sustained a major wrist injury, possible internal injuries as well as a head injury.
