Byron: Man Airlifted to Local Hospital after Motorcycle Crash

At 4:08 pm Thursday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to the area of Camino Diablo and Vasco Road for a report of a motorcycle crash.

Engine 59 (Discovery Bay) arrived on scene to locate a solo motorcyclist off the roadway and laying in a field. Upon providing patient care, E59 stated the patient had moderate-major injuries associated with the crash.

A medical helicopter was requested due to head and neck trauma and transported the patient to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek.

The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
