Every four years local Contra Costa County watershed groups, community members, and representatives from the public and private sectors interested in creeks and watershed health come together to learn, get inspired and network.

On December 3, they will host the 2015 County Watershed Symposium at the Pleasant Hill Community Center (320 Civic Dr, Pleasant Hill).

Here is a look at the Symposium Program:

  • 8:00 am to 9:00 am – Registration & networking
  • 9:00 am to 9:30 – Welcoming Remark
  • 9:30 to 10:10 am – River Restoration: a Global Perspective by Matt Kandolf
  • 10:10 am to 10:30 am – Break
  • 10:30 am to Noon – Climate Change w/panelist Mitch Avalon, Mark Boucher, Wendy Goodfriend and Rebecca Verity
  • Noon to 12:45 – Lunch
  • 12:45 to 2:10 pm – Lower Walnut Creek Presentation w/panelist Sean Baumgarten, Mike Carlson, Paul Detjens, Scott Dusterhoff
  • 2:10 pm to 2:30 – Break
  • 2:30 pm to 4:40 pm – Critters in the Creek w/panelist East Bay Regional Park District & Lindsay Wildlife Experience / Youth & Teachers in the Watershed w/panelist Kristen Van Dam EBRPD, Owl Program, Youth Ecology Corp
  • Closing
