The Contra Costa County DA’s Office has formally charged Aaron Goode with assault with a deadly weapon with a great bodily injury enhancement after Office of the Sheriff Detectives presented their case this afternoon.

Goode was arrested near Interstate 680 and Highway 4 Saturday morning at about 4:30 AM by an Office of the Sheriff K-9 unit, which was following up on the stabbing case. Goode was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

At about 1:30 AM last Thursday, Deputies were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at the 7-Eleven convenience store on the 5800 block of Pacheco Boulevard near Center Avenue.

When Deputies arrived they made contact with a store clerk who was suffering from stab wounds. Apparently a customer, later identified as Goode, attacked the clerk after being told to leave the store.

The fire department and an ambulance arrived to treat the victim, who was later transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. He was treated and released.

Goode, a 37-year-old transient, is currently being held without bail.
