At 9am this morning, the Pittsburg police department along with other local and state agencies arrested Keni Thompson at a residence on J Street in the City of Martinez.

Thompson has a violent criminal history and was a wanted fugitive for an attempted homicide in the City of Antioch in 2010 and another in the City of Pittsburg in 2012.  The Pittsburg incident occurred in the early morning hours on October 21st, 2012.  Thompson pulled up to a vehicle on Harbor Street and shot and struck all three of the occupants.  Two of the three victims were treated and released for their injuries; the third is paralyzed from the waist down.

Thompson has been actively sought over the past year; leading investigators from the Sacramento to Contra Costa County areas.  Information was received that Thompson was hiding at a residence on J Street in Martinez.

Officers conducted surveillance and confirmed this information.  Neighboring residents were evacuated from the area this morning and a search warrant was executed at location.  Thompson surrendered peacefully and is currently in custody with the Pittsburg Police Department.

Officers from the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, Antioch Police, Walnut Creek Police, Ca. DOJ, specifically the C.A.S.E. – (Contra Costa County Anti-Violence Suppression Effort) jointly assisted the Pittsburg Police Department in the investigation and arrest of Thompson.

Update:

Keni Thompson has been transported to Martinez County Jail and has a $2 million dollar bail.  (Antioch Warrant – 1,000.00.00 Pittsburg Warrant – 1,000.000.00)  He has prior convictions for weapons, resisting officers, and robbery.  In 2005 he was sentenced to prison on a robbery conviction.

??? A family man? How many families has he hurt? Real men dont do the things he’s done. Real men have respect and dont run the streets. Real men don’t need to hide. When you become mature, you might be able to understand this logic. It sounds like you’re very hurt over this. In all reality, Kenneth had this coming. And you sir, write like you have the I.Q. of a gummy worm :/

Actually, you don’t know the facts. If it was one of your family members hurt, I’m sure you’d feel differently. He’s better off where he is.

O.B, your comments make no sense, plus you cant spell. This dude didn’t go down like a man. He went down like the coward he is. Any coward can shoot someone. Finally, his karma has come and he can’t harm anyone else.

He is a good father just missed directed & not loved like he should have been. All he wanted to do is take care of his family, find a good paying job & for someone to take him fishing. He did’t have that MALE father figer in his life.People tried over & over again to bully him & disrespect him. So yes he’s going to come out fighting in a way that no one could understand. WE pray for the people & the families that were involved. We we pray for him also. Don’t forget GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.We pray for his family also.God bless us all. G.C.
