1 Dead, 2 Injured After Fire Destroys Two Homes in Brentwood

At 1:35 pm Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a house fire in the 200 block of Nancy Street in the City of Brentwood.

While responding, a giant cloud of smoke was sent into the air and multiple callers began reporting smoke and flames coming from two homes. Upon arrival, firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and flames both inside the home and on the exterior. A second home was charged with smoke in the attic.

As crews made fire attack, they located two victims inside, both victims were pulled from the home not breathing. CPR was immediately started with multiple crews working on the victim. A third victim was also located suffering from smoke inhalation and was also being treated.

The scene is still active and no word yet on the cause of the fire or other injuries.

A total of 4 AMR units were requested to the scene and Brentwood Police were also on scene providing traffic control and assistance.

2:50 pm UPDATE

According to ECCFPD Spokesperson Steve Aubert, he confirmed 1 person has died and another person was transported to a nearby hospital. Red Cross has been requested for 3 people.
