At 5:12 am Saturday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 3200 block of Lookout Point Loop in the Town of Discovery Bay.
Captain 59 arrived on scene and reported a single-story residence was sustaining heavy fire in the garage area with an exposure to a neighboring home.
Fire crews mobilized as they arrived on scene and began to protect neighboring structures.
According to Battalion Chief Craig Auzenne, the home sustained major damage to the garage and attic space with a complete roof collapse and water damage to the living area.
There was no injuries to civilians or firefighters and the fire is under investigation.

Curious, has anyone pulled statistics on Discovery Bay home fires versus the rest of the district for the last fifteen years ? What was the response time? It should have been under 5 min.
