DeSaulnier Scolds CALTRANS Over Bay Bridge Bolts

by ECT

Kudos go out to State Senator Mark DeSaulnier who yesterday scolded CALTRANS over the Bay Bridge Bolts saying they need to deliver a safe bridge project and to stop cutting corners.

Here is his Press Release that went out yesterday afternoon

Senator DeSaulnier Statement on Bay Bridge Bolts

“The new Bay Bridge is the largest public works project in state history, and Caltrans owes it to the commuters to deliver a safe bridge,” Senator Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord) said. “Caltrans needs to take the time necessary, and not cut corners, to get the bolt problem fixed.”

“Caltrans needs to get to the bottom of the bolt issue, and people need to be held accountable. The public deserves answers. I expect Caltrans to be transparent and timely in delivering information on the status of the bridge to the legislature, the Governor, and the public.”

Honest to God, why would anyone ever trust Caltrans at all? Their track record is poor at best. Reminds me of the paving contractor Antioch hires over and over always suing each other in the end with us losing.

Maybe Desaulnier will stop the six million dollar party and apply those funds to the bolt issue.
