At 1:53 am Monday, East Contra Costa Fire crews were dispatched to the 4000 block of Capstan Place in the Town of Discovery Bay on a report of a residential structure fire.
Upon arrival, Engine 59 located a fire under the rear deck of the home which extended under the house. Engine companies breached exterior walls and saw cut the interior floors in the kitchen and bedroom areas to make fire attack. The fire was then brought under control and contained.
The incident caused heavy fire damage to the exterior deck and walls, there was also heavy fire damage in the interior flooring in the kitchen and bedroom are.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not determined.
Fire crews were on scene a little over 3-hours.
