Concord: Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run, CHP Seeks Public’s Help

Concord, Ca. – On July 24, at approximately 2:10am, an unknown vehicle traveling on SR-242 southbound just south of Olivera Road struck and killed a pedestrian that was lying in the roadway, across the #2 lane of traffic.

It’s unclear at this time why the pedestrian was lying in the roadway. And the unknown vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene and has yet to be located. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and CHP has begun a full investigation.

At this time it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor. Additionally, the identity of the pedestrian is unknown pending identification and notification of the next of kin.

This is an active investigation and CHP needs your help.
