CA Counties Recognize Frazier for Work to Improve Transportation

by ECT

SACRAMENTO – The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) has chosen Assemblymember Jim Frazier, D-Discovery Bay, to receive its Distinguished Service Award for 2017.

“As chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee, Assemblymember Frazier led the charge in the Assembly to fix California’s local roads, state highways and transit systems,” said Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson, immediate past president of CSAC. “His efforts in the Legislature, the media and in many other settings eventually lead to the passage of SB 1 and ACA 5 in April of this year. He has been an earnest and steadfast partner and helped ensure that local governments and local taxpayers also see the benefits from this landmark legislation.”

“CSAC represents the leadership of the 58 counties that make up the most diverse, successful and forward-thinking state in the nation,” Frazier said. “It is humbling to be singled out by them for this recognition. I look forward to a lasting partnership with CSAC as we continue to work together on behalf our constituents.”

CSAC is comprised of county supervisors and staff from all the state’s counties, and represents county governments before the Legislature, state administrative agencies and the federal government. CSAC places a strong emphasis on educating the public about the value and need for county programs and services.

Boy, his heads gonna get real big now.

CSAC is obviously out of touch with the citizens of California. There is a repeal underway of Fraziers gas tax AND all polls show the tax is not supported by voters, taxpayers and citizens. And frankly it never was.

This is nothing more than government club that is patting itself and it’s enablers on the back.

No matter how you sluce it, Jim Frazier is what is wrong with State Government.

I so agree with you!
Frazier is lock step in tune with the Calif Oligarchy. It will be hard to get him out of office and won’t make much difference anyway. The entire Calif gov is only in it for themselves. Not one has a clue what matters to the average citizen.
Definition of Oligarchy – A government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and SELFISH purposes.

Agree with Buh-bye 100%. We have to be sure he is NOT reelected again.

No new taxes without a vote of the people. The gas tax is illegal.

There is a repeal effort underway which is doing extremely well. Sign the petition and let’s get this on the ballot. You can get a petition here; http://www.reformcalifornia.org

Over 150 THOUSAND signatures have already been collected!

-after just three weeks we have officially collected over 150k signatures for the Gas Tax Repeal Initiative! This is a record number for a statewide initiative – and more are pouring in each day keeping our volunteers quite busy with validation and counting-

As to this additional gasoline tax! What happened to all those gas taxes we’ve been paying for DECADES and DECADES? My grandparents (both sets) have been driving for over 60 years! My parents for over 40 years … my siblings and I have been driving for over 20 years as have all our relatives and friends …. WHERE DID ALL THAT MONEY GO? Why have our roads gotten so bad that they are useless! What idiot Sacramento politicians obsconded with all that money?

Sean Maguidhir Dec 15, 2017 - 4:03 pm

Inflation, efficient vehicles, and no changes to the road tax in over 20 years. The transportation infrastructure costs have risen (and will continue to rise), so all that money has been spent. There is no going back. If you want better safer roads, bridges and other transportation, we need this new tax. If the initiative passes, the transportation infrastructure will get worse. A lot worse. The folks who fix our roads are our neighbors. The tax money will also bring more well paying jobs to the local area.

What has this gas tax money collected in the last 40 years been spent on? I don’t buy that “no changes in road tax” crap! Where did that money already collected go? What clowns in Sacramento dipped their fingers in it? No roads were fixed! We used to have the best roads in the country! Our taxes are the HIGHEST in the country already! People who can afford to pay more taxes are leaving this state! This nothing but a scam!

The goons who were in Sacramento for the last 20 years used the money intended for road repairs for their own little projects, including blowing it on illegals! This should be researched to see who was running the state government when this money started to disappear. Go after them if they are still alive or if any of the members of their families are still around and put leans on their houses and businesses. We need that money back to be applied to what it was intended for .. not some idiot’s pet projects! People need to get angry!

Kind of like Hollywood. Award the actors in Sacramento with another plaque for their wall of shame. Bought and paid for, ,and promoted by the other actors as they move up the food chain. If the Repubs tax plan actually puts some extra cash in our take home dollars watch for Sacto Dems to invent new taxes and fees to wash it all away.

There must have been a total of billions of dollars collected by the state through the gasoline tax. I’m sure that money was taken and invested. Where is it now? I think I’m going to call my assemblyman and state senator and raise some bloody hell Monday! They better have an accounting! I will not accept some “well, we don’t know what happened to it” excuse.

Get this, now they want a mega million dollar tax bond because they are saying sales tax not enough. Look it up for details.
