On Thursday at 5:00 pm, East Contra Costa firefighters responded to Clifton Court Road off Byron Highway for a report of a vegetation fire.
Firefighters arrived to a wind driven grass fire that started on Byron Highway and burned to the south east. Firefighters mobilized and began fire attack limiting the fire to 11-acres of grass.
According to Battalion Chief Brian Helmick, the fire was caused by a boat trailers axel breaking which caused sparks that started the fire.
There were no injuries reported.
