Brentwood: Man Suffers Major Head Injury After 15-Foot Fall at Orwood Resort

At roughly 6:37 pm Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a male who fell more than 15 feet from a concrete pump house and was unconscious at the Orwood Resort in Brentwood.

The 26-year-old man was reportedly intoxicated and under the influence of narcotics when he climbed onto a concrete pump house and fell off the roof area which was approximately 15 feet high.  The subject landed on his head causing major head trauma. He was unconscious and non-responsive.

This resulted in the man having to be transported by medical helicopter to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek.

The incident required Engines 59 (Discovery Bay) and Engine 94 (Knightsen) to respond along with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, AMR, and CAL-Star1. The helicopter landed for transport in he parking area of the Orwood Resort.

The incident is still under investigation by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department.
