Just after 7:30 am Tuesday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a reported garbage truck fire on the 3700 block of Concord Avenue in Brentwood.

The incident required Engine 54 (Brentwood) and Water Tender 59 (Discovery Bay) and Battalian Chief 5.

According to the ECCFPD, an PG&E power line across the garbage truck was a safety concern during the incident.

Additional units were requested as a precaution but were later cancelled.  Fire crews were on scene for roughly 1-hour and 36-minutes.

I happy it was nothing major that is where my parents live and my family was there at the time this happened. I had actually just left there minutes before.
