As of 8:30 am Tuesday, Antioch Police are still looking for Ronald Stroup, a 72-year-old man with Alzheimer’s who went missing Monday afternoon.
Antioch Police have issued no new information from their original press release, however, they did provide an updated photo of Stroup. The Contra Costa County Search and Rescue has now joined the search as of 9:00 pm last night.

On 06-23-14 at approximately 3:15 pm, 72yr old Ronald Stroup went missing from 1255 Hillcrest Ave in the City of Antioch. Ronald suffers from severe Alzheimer’s and is said to now have the mental capacity of a toddler. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, dark gray sweat pants and brown house slippers.
He is described as a White Male Adult, 5’07” tall, 190lbs with long shoulder length white hair and a long white beard. Ronald was last seen by a neighbor walking south bound on Hillcrest Ave crossing over E 18th St heading towards Highway 4. Ronald does not suffer from any other medical issues besides the Alzheimer’s and has no problems walking without assistance.
Per family, Ronald will not be able to communicate very well and will not be able to ask for help.
