Benicia: Vandals Smash Windows On 36 Vehicles Overnight

The Benicia Police Department is reporting that more than three-dozen vehicles were broken into Monday night.

According to police, at about 2 a.m., we received a call from the 300 block of W M St regarding a car window smashed. Officers arrived to find several cars with side windows shattered.

In total, 36 cars had their side windows smashed on the following streets:

  • 100 block E O St
  • 300-400 block W M St, and
  • 1200 block W 3rd St.

Small items were taken and a lot of them were thrown on the street and recovered. at this point, it appears that this is an act of vandalism, and not theft.

Police remind our citizens to call 9-1-1 if they see any suspicious activity and to call us if they are a victim of this crime. Please do not leave anything of value inside a vehicle that can be seen from the outside.
