April 27-28: Kirker Pass Roadwork Announced

by ECT

The Contra Costa County Public Works Department announced Monday that they will perform roadwork on Kirker Pass Road at the intersection of Hess Road (north) between April 27-28.

The construction will occur, weather permitting, where they will complete the installation of the center-divide system, pavement work and striping.

Traffic will be controlled with temporary single-lane closures reducing the two lanes to a single lane in both directions. Turning left from Hess Road (north) onto southbound Kirker Pass will not be permitted during the temporary lane closures.

The lane closures will occur between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Changeable message sign boards and other construction signs will be placed in advance of the construction activities.

Great!!! Here we go again. How many deaths this time. They need to shut down the lane way before the top.

Simonpure how about people just drive the speed limit, and obey the other rules of the road. At some point people need to be held responsible for their own actions and quit looking to blame others.

Obviously North Clayton Resident hasn’t driven up there. I have been taking a different route home. I agree with Simonpure, that lane definitely needs to be shut down way before the top. The idiot drivers who kill the innocents ones don’t get the memo in time. The speed limit should NEVER BE 55 mph up there anyway. 45 tops.

Bailey Road is just as pathetic. These City Councils let all this development happen without any development to roads and infrastructure. BOOO.
