At 8:47 pm Sunday, Antioch Police officers responded to a report of a five-car accident at Deer Valley and Blue Rock Drive blocking the intersection.
DUI Crash on Deer Valley and Blue Rock in Antioch
Upon arrival with Contra Costa County fire and AMR, a total of five patients were injured in a crash after a drive coming off Bluerock Drive made a left turn into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle.
One person was transported to a local hospital by AMR while four others suffered minor injuries from the accident.
The accident blocked traffic in the southbound direction for more than an hour as crews worked the incident. Police blocked off the road at Deer Valley and Carpinteria Drive.
Antioch police performed a field sobriety test on a male suspected of driving under the influence. After the test was completed, he was placed under arrest.
