Video: Man Attacked With Pepper Spray at Random at 4 Legs Brewery in Brentwood

by ECT

The Brentwood Police Department is investigating a September 16 incident where a male was sprayed with some type of tear gas at Four Legs Brewing Company  in the City of Brentwood.

The incident occurred just after 7:00 pm on Elkins Way and Carrol Court where the victim has been standing in the parking lot after a bicycle ride. The victim was approached by an unknown suspect and without warning or provocation, was sprayed in the face with what appeared to be a tear gas canister .

The suspect fled the scene shortly after in a white, possibly older 90’s Chevy pick-up, with a distinct dark spot on the roof.

According to police, the victim was treated by paramedics on scene and told officers that he did not know the suspect, nor did he know why he had been sprayed.

According to the victim (name withheld), he confirmed the attack was random after a 12-mile bike ride. He stopped for a beer. The suspect was dropped off by a truck, he walked up and sprayed him before riding off on a skateboard.

“He randomly walked up said something like. “Hey bud” to get my attention and then when I looked at him he sprayed me at about 2” from my eyes and ran / skated off. I fell to the floor in absolute agony, blind and hardly breathing, it got in to my mouth and lungs,” explained the victim. “I was able to shout for help and frantically point in the vague direction he fled.”

He said it took approximately 2-hours before he could open his eyes and explained every blink caused and tear caused the burn to reactivate.

“The police and paramedics showed up and helped where possible, but there was not much they could do, the only way to get it off your skin is soap and water. Water reactivates it’s,” said the victim. “Even today my skin is still chemically burned, dry and itchy. My cheeks and lower eyes have only just reduced in swelling. When I sweat in general it still burns but now being 5 days it’s almost gone.”

According to the victims spouse (name withheld), upon finding out about what happened, the brewery staff sprung into action by watering him down and trying to help—even burning their own hands on the spray while trying to assist.

“They were amazing, this had nothing to do with the brewery and was random, so we will support them and continue to go back,” said the spouse of the victim.

The suspect is a white male adult, approximately 5’07-5’09, thin build, wearing a black hat, black face covering, sunglasses, a black shirt, gray shorts, and red tennis shoes, carrying a skateboard.

I hope they find the puke. Nothing should have been reported about the “distinct” black spot” on the roof of the truck. Now, they will paint over it. There are reasons certain information should be withheld from the public. The authorities would have spotted that truck from the air. Also, the “red” tennis should should NOT have been mentioned. Now, he will get rid of those because everyone now knows.
. . . . . .
People should wear goggles to keep such spray from reaching their eyes.

The security camera should be mounted in such a way that they get a good view of any perpetrator, not just the top of people’s heads. There are cameras small enough to be hidden in shrubbery of other places which would do that. Although the assailant wore a mask, his upper face would be visible. If you’re going to use cameras, think about what you want them to capture. Just mounting a camera anywhere, doesn’t do the job. Hope this idiot is found.

Did you see almost everyone walk the other way? No one went after the evil guy who did this, much less help the victim. Only one person went to him. Come on Brentwood. I thought you were better than this.
