At 5:19 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway crash on Byron Highway at Clifton Court Road.
It was reported that the vehicle entered the canal and was partially submerged.
By 5:39 pm, Engine 59 reported that the patient was self-extricated and they were working to make access.
By 5:32 pm, a medical helicopter was requested.
