Update: Parent Threatens to Blow Up Deer Valley HS After Child Assaulted

by ECT

On December 9, the Antioch Police Department responded to Deer Valley High School at 12:33 pm for a threats complaint. School employees reported that a known parent, 41 year old June Kirtman of Antioch, had threatened to blow the school up.

Arriving officers determined that Kirtman dropped her 15 year old son off before school and he was assaulted near the Antioch Community Center.

When Kirtman was advised of the assault, she responded to the office and became upset. Kirtman threatened to blow up the school, prompting the school staff to make mass calls to parents to inform them of the incident.

Kirtman was contacted at her residence and arrested without incident.

This preliminary information is made available by the Field Services Bureau. Any further inquiries
into the status of this case should be made via the Media Access Line at (925) 779-6874.

Here is the information provided by Deer Valley Principal Ken Gardner which we posted earlier today in a previous post which stated the school requested increased security.

Good Afternoon,

This is Ken Gardner, Principal of Deer Valley High School, with an important safety announcement. Earlier today, a parent of a DVHS student came onto our campus very upset. Our administrators spoke with the parent who then made several statements of a threatening nature.

The Antioch Police Department has been notified. Additionally, the District is providing additional security on campus and in front of the school.

Please remember that all visitors must check in at the front office. Also, it is important that if you see any suspicious behavior on or near our campus, that you immediately report it to the school or police.

Thank you for your commitment to keeping our campus a safe place.

Parents are fed up with their children being assaulted by the thugs infesting DVHS. You don’t send your kids to school to be beaten by these hoodlums who prey on the innocent. I don’t agree with her actions but I understand her anger

What people need to keep in mind when they make these ridiculous threats is they will be taken seriously, and you will be arrested. If you need to blow off steam, there are healthier ways to handle your frustration.

Her son was ASSAULTED! Probably not the first time. She blew off steam at the uncaring inept school staff. School staff was offended. They turned her in. Doubly victimizing her and her son. I wonder what she really said. I don’t believe THEY believed she really meant it, IF she really said it. Adding insult to injury Ken Gardner Principal makes this ironic comment: “Thank you for your commitment to keeping our campus a safe place.” Referring to to the mom, meaning she’s the terrorist, not the thugs running rampant on his watch. Nice touch Ken.
Advice to the mom: Homeschool if you possibly can.
