What do they charge for an airlift to the hospital. Last weeks accident had three medivacs respond for minor injuries. They could have been transported by land. I think they are using the airlift too much. Who cares….Obamacare will pay for it.

Joe blow from I don’t know,

It is 10k for the transport. IF you are conscious you do have a choice, but when your life depends on it, you really think you want to opt out for a cheaper and slower ride to a trauma center? In most cases your insurance covers it. If not, you may be able to negotiate payment between the air transport, the hospital and your attorney. Otherwise you are stuck with a huge bill.

Calstar is one of the helicopter transports for medical emergency transports in California…just an FYI to all…You can by a yearly membership around $50 to $60. through CALSTAR and it covers the cost if you ever need to be flown due to a medical emergency. 100% worth it!

Getting to the hospital from Disco Bay is a long ride, especially to Walnut Creek John Muir.
