Tri Delta Transit Bus Schedule to Change, Effective September 30

ANTIOCH, CA – Following the successful opening of the new BART stations in Antioch and Pittsburg, Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority (Tri Delta Transit) is making changes to their bus schedule to better align with BART arrivals and departures. These changes will take effect Sunday, September 30, 2018. All current routes will remain in operation with the new schedule. However, the following changes will occur:

Time Changes: Route 300 • 380 • 383 • 384 • 385 387 • 390 • 392 Route Change: Route 390 will extend to Pittsburg/ Bay Point BART via W, Leland Rd.

“We implemented a series of changes in May when the BART Stations first opened.” Said Mike Furnary,  Manager of Customer Service and Marketing. “However, we realized that additional changes and improvements needed to be made.” Over the past few months, Tri Delta Transit has been listening carefully to their customers getting feedback and suggestions of further improvements to the schedule. “We had a tremendous response to our solicitation and we believe we have prepared a schedule that better meets the needs of our community.”

All Tri Delta Transit customers are encouraged to preview the new schedule online at www.TriDeltaTransit.com<http://www.trideltatransit.com/>. “We have been alerting our customers and have had schedule previews on our web site since August 23, so they can adequately prepare for the upcoming changes,” said Furnary. Printed schedules will be available on all buses the week of September 24.

In addition to alerts provided online, notice of system changes has been communicated to staff of schools affected by route changes, and alerts have been placed on every bus and at several bus stops. Information is also posted on the agency’s mobile app, on multiple social media channels, and traditional media channels including local newspapers. Tri Delta Transit provides over 3,000,000 trips each year to a population of over 250,000 residents in the 225 square miles of Eastern Contra Costa County. They currently operate 15 local bus routes Monday – Friday, 4 local bus routes on weekends, door-to-door bus service for senior citizens and people with disabilities, and shuttle services to community events.
