Visit the Marsh Creek State Historic Park, see the Marsh Stone House, hike, enjoy kids’ activities and get a close-up look at the stars on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Explore the Earth and sky at this year’s Heritage Day!

  • 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free kids activities including rope-making, lariat throwing, and leather stamping. Visits to the John Marsh Stone House home of the first Euro-American settler in Contra Costa, and the park’s 7,000-year-old archaeology site are also free all day!
  • 3 p.m to 5 p.m. Join guides Ger Erickson and Harry York for a 90-minute hike over mild terrain. You’ll visit an old quarry site and take in a magnificent view of the State Park and surrounding hills!
  • 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lunch is served — Featuring tri-tip sandwiches or hot dogs.
  • 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m Join Astronomer and teacher Jeff Adkins for a close-up view of the night sky!
