The Antioch Police Department will be hosting its Coffee With the Cops on Saturday, May 30 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Antioch Police Department Community Room.
The event will allow Chief Allan Cantando to discuss recent crime statistics and recent issues occurring in our community while allowing residents to ask questions and offer solutions.
This event is held at 300 L Street.
According to the May 13 Antioch City Council Meeting, Chief Cantando reported that Part 1 Crime is down by 7.7 percent while arrests were up 21.3 percent.
According to the statistics, which compared Jan – March 2014 vs. 2015 over the same time period, the city has had 10 less robbery cases (down 14.9%) and 22 less aggravated assaults (down 18.3%) when compared to last year. Overall, violent crime is down 13.6 percent.
Adult arrests saw in increase of 30.5 percent (an increase of 247 arrests) while juvenile arrests were decreased by 20.7 percent (37 less arrests).
