Report Ranks Pittsburg Unified as a Top Unified District in County for Teacher Salaries and Benefits

Pittsburg, CA – School Services of California, Inc., an independent school finance organization, issued a recent report on teacher salaries and benefits that ranks Pittsburg Unified School District as a top unified school district in total compensation in Contra Costa County.

The report is based on official data submitted by school districts to the State of California and analyzes statewide, regional, and county data on teacher compensation and benefits for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

The comparative analysis by School Services of California, Inc., Salary and Benefits Report (SABRE), lists detailed salary, benefit, and total compensation data for school district statewide averages, county averages, and districts in Contra Costa County.

The report includes unified school districts, elementary school districts, and high school districts. In terms of total compensation, which includes salary and a district’s average contribution for teachers’ health benefits, Pittsburg Unified School District came in at $68,044 for BA+30 Step 1, $90,151 for BA+60 Step 10, and $108,024 for Maximum Salary. These are the highest among the unified school districts in Contra Costa County, and are also well above the regional and comparative group averages.
