As a follow up to Wednesday night’s shooting and murder of a 23-year-old man with ties to Richmond and Antioch, CBS 5 is reporting the victim has been identified as Lavonta Crummie, a Richmond resident with an address in Antioch, was shot and killed around 7:30 p.m. on Delta Fair Boulevard near Buchanan Road, according to police and a coroner’s deputy.

The 23-year-old was a North Richmond rapper who went by the name of “Macho”.

Crummie released his debut album, “The Project Prince: a World of my OWN,” in 2011. Videos for the album’s first three singles were YouTube sensations in Richmond’s hip-hop community.

An unidentified Vallejo man was also struck by the gunfire and taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition, according to police.

No arrests have been made.

Police said witnesses described the suspect vehicle in the shooting as a gold four-door car that is possibly a Honda or Chevrolet.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Meads at the Antioch Police Department at (925) 779-6884.

“Resident of Richmond with an address in Antioch”. This guy was in Antioch as a direct result of section 8. It’s time to take it to the streets. It’s time to get mad. The good people of the East County must stand up and fight. Enough with the useless facebook pages, enough of the tough guy facebook comments. It’s time to put your money where your mouth is.

“It’s time to get mad, time to take it to the streets” And I presume you’re lumping yourself in with the “good people of East County.” Are you kidding all of us Mr. Enough is enough? If you want to put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is, why don’t you start with using YOUR real name instead of hiding behind some “Enough is enough” character?

Find another way. You’re not going to get anywhere with your way of thinking. In fact, you’ll create further divide. Put your money where your mouth is and realize that communication to bridge gaps within a community is probably a better direction to start. Don’t be a caveman, be an adult and show and lead others.

Explain your self E&E. Sounds like you want to do what we are all trying to avoid. You might want to curb that attitude before its your door the police kick in. Really Dude
Take It To The Streets?

Disgusted in East County Aug 2, 2013 - 10:13 am

Useless scraps. I guess he had crabs because he couldn’t keep his hand off his crouch. If you look at his Facebook none of his friends can’t even use real names because they are a bunch of criminals. These people breed like rabbits. Welfare should make these woman use the birth control shots. Antioch in ten years is going to be a scary place to live.

and you……you SHOULD be disgusted with YOURSELF!! Yes, you SHOULD BE because for you to make a statement such as this..and classify this young man with “welfare”….”These people breed like rabbits….” Nigga he ain’t mexican……Now…I just gave you the SAME disrespect that you are giving this young man and his family as I’ve been consoling his father for the past few days now….Yeah, Im black, Yeah, I USED to get welfare but now I work at one of the most well known corporations in the US. and Yes, I WAS a section 8 recipient years ago and Heelll yeah, Im black. Lol!! But ONE THINGS for sure….I bet you, that I can tell you EVERY FUCKING ELEMENT on the periodic table. I ALSO BET YOU that I can type a two page business letter faster than you can say: “Como estas” Y Si, Habla espanol too! (and yes, I speak spanish)…see…sir or madam, all blacks are not failures, welfare recipients, drug dealers, etc….SOME OF US DO HAVE educated minds and good jobs, nice homes and such…but it’s a shame that folks like you judge the book instead of opening it. Idiota.

A frustrated Antioch homeowner Aug 2, 2013 - 11:28 am

I agree more than half of Antioch residents have 2 addresses. When is Antioch going to be safe to live in again? What happened to the nice quiet place I purchased my first mew home in? There is more drug houses and more section 8 here in Antioch then homeowners. Did the city officials need to make deals with the devil? Why do we pay mello roos in our taxes? So we can live in fear. Maybe so we can pay for some of the section 8 destruction being done to our not so safe city. I am frustrated that there is NOTHING we as homeowners can do but move, and for us that is not an option.

You sound so stupid. About 5 years ago, I was on section 8 until I found a job paying me $20 an hour. Section 8 has NOTHING TO DO with violence. 99% of violence that occurs, is due to NOTHING BUT “ignorance”….Do you know what that is…? “Ignorance” is the statement that you’ve made. You are VERY ignorant. And it’s such a shame that people like you “think” that it’s okay to make comments such as this….basically saying that section 8 is why Antioch, Ca is not safe…LOL!! You are so dumb…LOL!! Woooow…and probably white too I bet. LOL!! Dumbass. LOL!!

“Enough is Enough” That statement that you made was absurd. And since you don’t seem to know that young man, Let me TELL you. First of all, he was not in Antioch as a “direct result of section 8….”….second of all, he was a good kid. You should really watch what you say about people before you judge. You are not GOD. You are nobody…making statements like that. Just because that young man lost his life to violence-DOES NOT MEAN that he was that way. That boy was a good kid. Have some respect. Some folks do live decent….even though he was only 23 years old-He ABSOLUTELY DID NOT LIKE negativity. If you want to get to know him, why don’t you check him out on the internet. He’s been interviewed a few times because he was tired of living around negativity and wanted to see something different. You fuckin’ retard.

Statistics don’t lie. Most of the police calls and problems are at the Section 8 homes.

RIP MACHO Aug 4, 2013 - 1:32 pm

Like I SAID..”Ninety percent of violence is due to IGNORANCE”…and you can take your shallow remarks elsewhere……this was not published to create a comment debate on what the community thinks about section 8(never read in the article) nor are we in “American Government and Economics”/Debate class I’m sure the publisher’s ONLY REASON for publishing this had NOTHING TO DO with what a different community may “think” because you OBVIOUSLY don’t know sh!t. Did you research the section 8 and police calls..? Awwwww let me guess…? You work for the “Co Co County Dispatch center in Martinez or the mobile command center maybe huh? Or MAYBE your daddy has worked for the co co county sheriff’s department..? Well maybe you should have researched this young’s dreams on the Internet ONLY to SEE that he was taking a positive turn in life…..you unempathetic piece of McDonald’s (sh!t).

Sad_world Aug 4, 2013 - 5:27 pm

I feel sooo bad for his friends and family! No matter what this was a young man that did not deserve to die from such a violent crime. There is a lot of ignorance and bickering back and forth in all the comments on all the posts about this story. It is amazing to me how everybody just wants to lay blame and how nobody seems to have a heart anymore. And everybody wonders why our society has gone to hell! I do not know this person or anyone involved but I do grieve for his family and friends at this very sad time and my heart really does go out to them! How would you feel if this was a member of your family that just died and all you saw was negative comment after comment from people that never knew him or anything about him?
