Pittsburg Woman Arrested After Committing Crime Spree throughout Bay Area

by ECT

On September 29,  Rebekka White, a 34 year old Pittsburg resident, was arrested in Walnut Creek after many crimes in the city and neighboring cities.

Rebekka White2Police said, on September 1, a white female was captured on surveillance cameras  after stealing a wallet from the women’s locker room at one of the gyms in Walnut Creek.

This female then used the victim’s credit cards at several businesses in town. One of these illegal transactions resulted in the same female being identified as the responsible in an auto burglary in Lafayette where credit cards were stolen.

On September 29, a set of car keys were stolen from inside the women’s locker room at a gym in San Ramon.

The female suspect then used the keys to steal the victim’s car, which contained the victim’s purse and credit cards. Suspect then drove to Walnut Creek again to go on a shopping spree. Suspect purchased a $4800 watch with the victim’s credit card before officers were able to locate her and the stolen vehicle in downtown Walnut Creek and take her into custody.

At this time, the arrestee was identified as White and recognized as the female in the surveillance photo from the 9/1/15 crime spree.

A subsequent probation search on her residence located additional stolen property from a commercial burglary in South San Francisco and other likely stolen property and additional victims of identity theft.

On October 13, as a result of the above, the DA’s office filed a 12 count felony complaint against White and her bail is now set at $575,000.

Her charges include:

  • Commercial Burglary (PC 459),
  • Grand Theft Auto (CVC 10851)
  • Identity Theft (PC 530.5)
  • Possession of Stolen Property (PC 496)

Walnut Creek Police Offered the following advice:

This one person crime spree has been temporarily halted, but unfortunately her actions are not unique. We need our citizens to PLEASE remember two things:

  1. Do NOT leave valuables in plain view in your vehicles. You are one broken window away from losing your property.
  2. Crooks are targeting our gym parking lots for valuables left in cars and sneaking into the locker rooms for purses and wallets. Locking your valuables in the locker room is a must.
