Pittsburg Police Officer Involved in Crash Tuesday Morning

The Pittsburg Police Department is currently investigating a vehicle crash that occurred just after 11:00 am at Loveridge Road and E Leland Road in the City of Pittsburg.

Pittsburg Police did confirm the officer is okay.

No other details of the crash have been provided, however, the roadway is closed due to the investigation.

UPDATE– Preliminary Information by Pittsburg PD:

Early this morning Pittsburg officers responded to a hit-and-run collision with injuries. While an officer was traveling through the intersection of Loveridge Rd. and E. Leland Rd., they collided with another vehicle. Both parties involved were transported to local hospitals with complaint of pain only. The California Highway Patrol responded to investigate the collision. Portions of the intersection are expected to be closed for a period of time.

I bet the people eating at IHOP at that intersection, saw it all happen. There have been shootings and crashes in that area and some were really frightening. I hope the officer is OK.
