Pittsburg Police Make Arrest in Wells Fargo Bank Robbery

On June 9, at 6:56 pm, Pittsburg Police officers responded to Wells Fargo inside Safeway Grocery Store in the 600 block of Bailey Rd after a hold up alarm had been activated.

According to Pittsburg Police Lieutenant Phil Galer, they received several calls also reporting that a male was inside the bank armed with a firearm. Officers responded and located the suspect as he was exiting the location.

“The suspect was contacted and arrested as he attempted to flee.  An undisclosed amount of US Currency was taken during the robbery,” said Galer.

Police say the Investigations Division is actively investigating this incident.

Additional information is expected to be released Monday, June 13. No suspect details or photograph was released.
